DUSHANBE, April 17, 2010, Asia-Plus — Russian-Tajik Slavic University (RTSU) in Dushanbe and Liaoning University of Petroleum and Chemical Technology (China) have signed an agreement on cooperation in the fields of science and education as well as training of specialists.
The document was inked by RTSU Chancellor Muhammadyusuf Imomov and Vice-Chancellor of Liaoning University of Oil and Chemical Technology Yunchuan Bay (phonetically spelled) here on April 16, the source at RTSU said.
Under the agreement, leavers from the school at RTSU may be sent to the Liaoning University of Petroleum and Chemical Technology to study such disciplines as oil ad chemical technologies, geology and some others, the source said.
Founded in Dalian, Liaoning Province in 1950, Liaoning Shihua University was the first petroleum school in China. In 1953, the university moved to the city of Fushun, Liaoning Province. In March, 2002, under the ratification of the Ministry of Education, the name of the university was changed from Fushun Petroleum Institute into Liaoning University of Petroleum & Chemical Technology. It is a state-owned, non-profit making institution of higher education and the first of its kind in China.
The university has developed a good relationship with 12 foreign universities, including Edinburgh University, U.K. and Ufa University of Petroleum Technology, Russia. Liaoning University of Petroleum and Chemical University has developed into a multi-disciplinary university with petrochemistry as its distinctive feature, and Engineering, Science, Economics, Management, Literature, Law and Education as major subjects.
