DUSHANBE, March 5, 2010, Asia-Plus — Dushanbe police seized large amount of hashish yesterday.

According to the Ministry of Interior (MoI), the 36-year-old woman from Dushanbe, F.S., was detained on March 4 on suspicion of having been involved in drug trafficking. A package containing some 15 kilograms of hashish was confiscated from her.

The same day, resident of the Varzob district, S.R., was detained in Dushanbe with 4 kilograms of hashish.

Over the first two months of this year, Tajik law enforcement authorities have sized some 475 kilograms of narcotics, including 70.5 kilograms of heroin, the source at a MoI said.
