The Central Election Commission held a session on 30 December to consider the preliminary results of the elections of the Legislative Chamber and the holding second round of elections in separate districts.

In his speech, the CEC chairman Mirza-Ulugbek Abdusalomov said the elections had been held in full accordance with democratic principles of openness, and foreign observers had been provided with all conditions for their activity.

A total of 96 deputies of the parliament’s lower house were elected from 135 election districts. In 39 districts, none of the candidates received the required number of votes for election.
