DUSHANBE, December 29, 2009, Asia-Plus — A new literary magazine entitled Sharqu Gharb (East and West) will be brought out in Tajikistan in January 2010, according to the Academy of Arts under the Suhrob Arts Gallery in Dushanbe.
Founded by the Academy of Arts and a group of Tajik writers and translators, the magazine is expected to create a platform for Tajik creative intelligentsia to discuss new ideas for development of the East-West dialogue, the source said.
“The magazine will publish the best works of modern Tajik writers and poets as well as translations of the best works of the world literature,” the source said, noting that at first, Sharqu Gharb will be a quarterly publication and in the future, it will be issued once a month.
