DUSHANBE, December 26, 2009, Asia-Plus  — On Friday December 25, Safar Safarov, the first deputy speaker of the Majlisi Namoyandagon (Tajikistan’s lower chamber of parliament), received a group of representatives of political parties of a number of foreign countries that arrived in Tajikistan to attend celebrations dedicated to the 15th anniversary of founding of Tajikistan’s ruling People’s Democratic Party (PDPT), Muhammadato Sultonov, a spokesman for the Majlisi Namoyandagon said in an interview with Asia-Plus.

Among them were Chen Fengxiang, vice-chairman of the International Department of the Central Committee of China’s Communist Party, Mubariz Gahraman Ogli, member of the Political Council of Azerbaijan’s Yeni Azerbaijan (New Azerbaijan), and Shaabek Niyazov, member of the Political Council of Kyrgyzstan’s Ak Jol, (Genial Path).

Safarov briefed the guests on activity of the Majlisi Namoyandagon.  On the parliamentary elections set for February 28, 2010, Tajik vice speaker noted that all political parties of the country would participate in the elections.

Jumaboy Sanginov, the head of the PDPT group within the Majlisi Namoyandagon also attended the meting.
