President Emomali Rahmon today, April 23, held a meeting with personnel appointed to responsible and leadership positions in the Ministry of Defense, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Main Border Guard Directorate of the State Committee for National Security (SCNS), State Committee for Land Management and Geodesy, as well as in the Committee for TV and Radio-broadcasting under the Government of Tajikistan, according to the Tajik president’s official website.

At the beginning of the conversation, the head of state reportedly provided a comprehensive assessment of the activities of the security structures, including the divisions of the Ministry of Defense and the SCNS Main Border Guard Directorate.

He emphasized that in a complex and unstable global situation, the priority tasks for leaders should be ensuring security and stability, constant vigilance, and readiness to protect state borders.

It was also noted the necessity of increasing the level of combat readiness, equipping units with modern equipment and communication means.

Special attention during the meeting was given to eliminating causes that hinder effective service in military units, preventing violations among military personnel, patriotic education of recruits, studying modern military equipment and foreign languages, strengthening physical training, as well as fully providing units with material and technical resources.

According to the president’s official website, the head of state also introduced staff changes to the structures of the Ministry of Defense and the SCNS Main Border Guard Directorate: qualified and experienced officers were reportedly appointed as military commissioners in several cities and districts of the country, as well as to leadership positions of separate detachments and units of the Border Troops.

Thus, today Junaydullo Khamro Habibullo was appointed Deputy Commander of the Border Troops of the State Committee for National Security of the Republic of Tajikistan for logistics.

Moreover, by president’s decrees, Zubaydullo Zubaydzoda was relieved from his post of Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador to Kuwait and concurrently to the Sultanate of Oman: he will now head the diplomatic mission only in Oman.

Nozir Khusrav was appointed as Tajikistan’s Ambassador to Kuwait.

Ali Sharif, a well-known Tajik commentator, was appointed as the new head of the Varzish TV channel, where he previously worked as the first deputy head of the channel. He replaced Parviz Noriyon, who was appointed as the Deputy Head of the country’s Communications Service.

Saadi Ismatzoda was relieved from the position of Director of the State Institution “Academy of Mass Media of Tajikistan” due to a transfer to another job. His place was taken by Haqnazar Karimzoda.

By government’s decrees, the following were also relieved:

Dilafrouz Rustamzoda from the position of Deputy Chairperson of the Committee for TV and Radio-broadcasting due to a transfer to another job.

Nozim Mahmadizoda from the position of Director of the Institute of Philosophy, Political Science and Law named after A. Bahovaddinov of the National Academy of Sciences of Tajikistan due to the reorganization of the Institute.

Tabassum Azizoda from the position of Deputy Chairperson of the State Supervision Service for Safe Conduct of Work in Industry and Mining Supervision due to a transfer to another job.

Lutfiya Abdulkhaliqzoda from the position of Deputy Minister of Education and Science.

Jumakhon Fayzalizoda from the position of Director of the National Library due to retirement: Abdulkholiqzoda was appointed to his place.

By government’s decrees, the following were appointed:

  • Khurshed Bobozoda – First Deputy Chairman of the State Committee for Land Management and Geodesy
  • Barno Sokhibzoda – Deputy Chairperson of the Committee for TV and radio-broadcasting.
  • Parvona Mirzozoda – Director of the Institute of State and Law of the National Academy of Sciences of Tajikistan.
  • Nozim Mahmadizoda – director of the Institute of Philosophy and Political Science named after A. Bahovaddinov of the National Academy of Sciences of Tajikistan”.
  • Olimsho Aslonzoda – Deputy Chairman of the State Supervision Service for Safe Conduct of Work in Industry and Mining Supervision.
  • Additionally, by the order of the head of state, Sobir Tashrifzoda was appointed as the director of the National Stadium.
