Tajikistan, Turkmenistan to boost bilateral cooperation

DUSHANBE, November 13, 2009  — President Emomali Rahmon today received Turkmen Ministry of Energy and Industries Yarmukhamed Orazguliyev, who is co-chairman of the Tajik-Turkmen intergovernmental commission for trade and economic cooperation.

Speaking to reporters after a meeting with Rahmon, Turkmen minister noted that there were no any serious problems in relations between Tajikistan and Turkmenistan.  “Turkmenistan and Tajikistan will expand bilateral cooperation in all directions and there is a proper legal foundation for this,” Orazguliyev said.

On the work of the Tajik-Turkmen commission for trade and economic cooperation, he noted that the second meeting of the commission would be concluding here today.  “We worked effectively during two days and the session will result in signing of a protocol on further expansion of our cooperation,” Turkmen minister said, noting that the next meeting of the commission will be held in Ashgabat, Turkmenistan in 2010.
