Tajikistan wins 12 medals at the Asia Cadet and Junior Judo Championships in Tashkent

Dedicated to the memory of the famous Uzbek athlete Uchkun Murodov, the Asian Judo Cup for Cadets and Juniors (TashkentAsianCadet& JuniorCup2026) concluded in Uzbekistan’s capital, Tashkent, on May 31.

 Cadet competitions were held on May 28-29, while the strongest junior athletes were determined on May 30-31.

The tournament confirmed its status as one of the key events on the continent and served as a serious test for the youth national team of Tajikistan. Following all days of competitions, the Tajikistan team have won 12 medals.

For comparison: in 2024, the national team won 3 medals, in 2025 – 6 medals, and in 2026 – already 12 awards. Among them, the cadets (under 18 years) won 5 medals, while the juniors (under 21 years) secured 7 medals.

The final day of the tournament brought the team several more awards, particularly in the heavier weight categories among juniors.

Silver medals were won by: Ismoil Burkhanov (100 kg), Ardashiri Hamza (90 kg). Bronze awards were added by: Pansher Muminov (90 kg), Madina Kurbonzoda (52 kg), Muhammadrofei Khabibullo (66 kg), Yosin Bobokalov (66 kg).

The main achievement of the team was the gold medal won by Alexandra Kan in the 57 kg weight category. The Tajik athlete had a perfect tournament, winning all her matches and defeating a representative from Kyrgyzstan in the final.

In the early days of the competition, the team made a statement by winning five medals: silver – Muhammadjon Solehov (55 kg), Isomuddin Qosimov (60 kg), Rayhon Rozikzoda (52 kg), bronze – Ormon Safarov (60 kg), Shomil Ismoilov (66 kg).

Overall, the results demonstrated not only the presence of leaders but also the depth of the squad – medals were earned across various weights and categories.

The Asian Judo Cup for Cadet and Junior in Tashkent gathered over 1200 athletes from 12 countries, and the Tajikistan team was represented by one of the largest delegations – over 200 judokas: in the cadet team (under 18 years) – 108 people (101 boys and 7 girls); in the junior team (under 21 years) – 107 athletes (101 boys and 6 girls).
