The latest earthquake comes less than two months after two separate earthquakes struck Tajikistan on April 3. The first occurred at 3:26 p.m., followed by another at 9:12 p.m.

Authorities reported that the earthquakes reached an intensity of 5–6 points at their epicenters. The first quake was centered about 15 kilometers south of Tojikobod district (Rasht Valley in eastern Tajikistan), while the second originated in neighboring Afghanistan.

Following the April 3 earthquake in Tojikobod district, local authorities reported damage to residential buildings. In the villages of Sarinai, Shirinchashma, and Polezak, located in the Shirinchashma jamoat, 16 houses sustained minor damage and one outbuilding was completely destroyed.

In the village of Darai Nushor in Nushor jamoat, six homes also suffered minor damage.

No injuries were reported in connection with the April earthquakes.
