DUSHANBE, September 25, 2009, Asia-Plus — President Emomali Rahmon met with a group of fellow-countrymen in New York on September 24.
According to presidential press service, some 50 our fellow-countrymen, who are temporarily living in the United States, were invited to the conference room of the UN General Assembly during President Rahmon’s speech.
Tajik known researcher Akbar Tursun, who now lives and works in the United States, noted that he was very glad that President Rahmon had delivered a statement in the Tajik language.
President Rahmon called on fellow-countrymen to represent their country with dignity in the United States and make contribution to strengthening of Tajik-U.S. relations.
