DUSHANBE, September 16, 2009, Asia-Plus — The Second Tajik-Chinese Business Forum is expected to take place in Dushanbe from November 11-12 this year, according to Tajikistan’s Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCI).
“The sides are currently specifying the mechanism of holding the forum as well as the number of participants,” the source at CCI said, noting that a large number of Chinese entrepreneurs are expected to attend the business forum in Dushanbe.
The First Tajik-Chinese Business Forum was held in Beijing, China in January 2007 and more than 200 representatives from China’s business community attended it. Tajikistan was represented by senior representatives of more than 50 enterprises at the business forum in Beijing.
According to figures provided by the State Committee for Statistics, a two-way trade between Tajikistan and China in January-August 2009 has amounted to 388.7271 million U.S. dollars.
