ISFARA, September 10, 2009, Asia-Plus  — A Tajik-Russian joint venture for producing dried fruits, Barakat-Isfara, was launched in Sughd’s Isfara district on September 8.

Qutbiddin Eshonov, the head of the economy and economic reforms department within the Isfara mayor’s office, told Asia-Plus that the enterprise’s authorized capital stock amounted to 1.2 million somoni.

According to him, the enterprise founders include the Moscow confectionery, Belogorodskaya, as well as a number of private entrepreneurs from Tajikistan and Russia.   

“Barakat-Isfara will dry up and calibrate fruits, as well as pack dried,” said Eshonov, “The enterprise will also be engaged in consumer packaging of other food products.”

Russian entrepreneur Vladimir Kalinichenko, who is one of founders of the enterprise, said that the joint venture was provided with the state-of-the-art equipment from Russia, Turkey and China.

“The minimal capacity of each of two lines of the enterprise will be 300-700 kilograms of products per hour,” said Kalinichenko, “The manufactured goods will be realized in Russia and European countries.”

35 persons, mainly local residents, now work with the enterprises, which also plans to begin producing chocolates with use of local dried fruits and nuts in the future.
