QURGHON TEPPA, September 2, 2009, Asia-Plus — Closed joint-stock company (CJSC) Rushdi Khatlon (Development of Khatlon) plans to open four new industrial enterprises in the region by Tajikistan’s Independence Day, which is marked on September 9.

The Rushdi Khatlon Director General Mahmadzoirsho Nosirov told Asia-Plus that flourmill with daily capacity of 90 tons of wheat flour, oil mill with daily capacity of 120 tons of cooking (cotton) oil, as well as two plants for production of cement and bricks would be put into operation in the area by September 9.

“All these enterprises will create a total of more than 300 new jobs for local residents,” the Rushdi Khatlon top manager said.

According to him, CJSC Rushdi Khatlon now groups 19 enterprises and they plan to launch a number of other industrial enterprises in the future.

Nosirov added that each of four new enterprises would have workshops for processing raw materials into manufactured goods.  “Thus, the flourmill will have a workshop for producing cookies and macaroni,” said he, “Financial crisis has seriously affected our company’s activities and we had to discharge on grounds of staff reduction or send into unpaid vacation more than 500 people.  We will staff the new enterprises with our former workers.”
