KHUJAND, August 20, 2009, Asia-Plus  — Closed joint-stock company Obi Zulol, a water bottling plant in the Sughd province, has funded construction of a new school in the village of Qarasaqol, some two kilometers of the plant.

The Obi Zulol deputy director general, Fayzullo Nosirov, said that there had been no school in the village and local children had had to take lessons at the village choikhona (teahouse).

According to him, construction of the school began on May 8 this year and was finished on August 17.   “It is a two-story building with 16 classes to accommodate 320 pupils,” said Nosirov, “The school has also computer class, provided with 20 computers, gym and canteen.”

He added that they had also installed a heating system working on alternative fuel and were currently installing transformer in order to ensure regular electricity supplies to the school.
