Russia is the main foreign trade partner of Uzbekistan following the results of the first half of the year. Russia is the main foreign trade partner of Uzbekistan following the results of the first half of the year. Its share in republic”s commodity turnover constitutes 19.6% and has increased 106.5% in comparison with that of analogous period in 2008, Uzbek state statistics committee reported.

Volume of export to Russia in first half of 2009 constituted US $1 68 million, import – US $991.4 million.

Other foreign trade partners of the republic in commodity turnover are as follows: Switzerland (12.3%), China (11,1%), Ukraine (7,5%), Kazakhstan (6,9%), Republic of Korea (4,7%), Afghanistan (3,2%), Iran (2,8%), Turkey (2,4%), Germany (2,3%), Tajikistan (1,2%), US (1,2%), and France (1,1%).
