DUSHANBE, June 26, 2009, Asia-Plus — Laboratory for young stage directors from the CIS states has been launched in Moscow on sidelines of the Eighth International Chekhov Theater Festival.
The Eighth International Chekhov Theater Festival is taking place in various locations throughout the city from May 26 to August 2.
The laboratory for young stage directors was organized by the International Confederation of Theater Associations under support of the CIS Interstate Fund for Humanitarian Cooperation (IFHC).
According to the IFHC spokesman Aleksandr Kalugin, the laboratory participants include 23 young stage directors from Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Moldova, Tajikistan, Ukraine and Uzbekistan. Internationally known stage directors Adolf Shapiro from Latvia, Kirill Serebrennikov from Russia and Declan Donnellan from Great Britain will conduct master-classes for them on the subject of “Work of Director with Actor,” he said.
The laboratory will work until June 30. Tajikistan is represented by young stage directors Munira Dadoyeva and Khurshed Mustafoyev.
