DUSHANBE, January 27, 2009, Asia-Plus — Because of carriage of Tajik nationals deported from the Russian Federation Tajik Air (national air carrier) last year lost more than 700,000 somoni, the Tajik Air director general Alimurod Mahmadaliyev announced at a press conference in Dushanbe on January 26.
According to him, 636 Tajik national were deported from Russia last year, which was 261 people more than in 2007.
“To improve services offering to passengers we are currently working on extending a network of sale of air tickets,” Mahmadaliyev said, noting that the company signed interline-agreements with Russian air carriers Rossiya and Ural Airlines “on mutual use of resources through Sirena and Amadeus systems.
Tajik Air has also singed the interline-agreement with German company, Hahn Air. This agreement allows selling air tickets for Tajik Air’s flights to Europe, the Tajik Air head said,
Besides, the national air carrier is currently working on launching air routes from Dushanbe to Frankfurt am Main (Germany), Baku (Azerbaijan) and some Russian cities, the Tajik Air top manager said.
