DUSHANBE, May 25, 2009, Asia-Plus — Visiting Croatian President Stepan Mesic today morning departed for Khujand, the capital of the northern Sughd province, according to the MFA information department.

In Khujand, Mr. Mesic will hold talks with senior representatives of local authorities, visit a number of industrial enterprises in the province and see the sights of Khujand.

Tajik Prime Minister Oqil Oqilov is accompanied Croatian president on his trip to Sughd.  In the afternoon, President Mesic will leave for Croatia.

We will recall that Croatian President Stepan Mesic arrived in Tajikistan on an official visit Saturday afternoon.

On May 24, Mesic held talks with President Emomali Rahmon and chairman of the Majlisi Namoyandagon (Tajikistan’s lower chamber of parliament) Saydullo Khairulloyev.

The same day, Croatian president visited Tajikistan’s main industrial complex, the Tajik Aluminum Company (Talco), in Tursunzoda.
