Interior Ministry internal security department chief reportedly died of sudden cardiac arrest

DUSHANBE, February 7, 2011, Asia-Plus  — The Interior Ministry press service reports that the Interior Ministry internal security department chief, Colonel Saydullo Pirov, has died of a sudden cardiac arrest.

Mahmadullo Asadullozoda, a spokesman for the Ministry of Interior (MoI), added that Saydullo Pirov had been in Khujand, Sughd province on an official business.

We will recall that the source at a MoI told Asia-Plus Monday morning that Colonel Saydullo Pirov was found dead in the room at Tavhid Hotel in Khujand on Saturday (February 5).  According to him, Pirov died under uncertain circumstances.

Saydullo Pirov was buried at his hometown Danghara on Sunday, February 6. 

Saydullo Pirov was born in Danghara district on March 19, 1950.  He took service with police in 1979 and since 1994, he had served at the Interior Ministry’s central apparatus.  He was appointed to head the Interior Ministry internal security department in 2009.
