DUSHANBE, August 18, 2011, Asia-Plus – A new factory opened in Dushanbe ahead of the 20th anniversary of Tajikistan’s independence and has already launched production of energy saving lamps.

A total of 2mln Somoni were allocated from the Dushanbe budget for construction of the factory and for the purchase of equipment, a spokesman for the Dushanbe Mayor’s Office Shavkat Saidov told the AP. The factory will provide jobs for 126 residents of Dushanbe. The factory will produce up to 10.000 lamps a day. According to Saidov, the factory is also able to produce advertising lamps, LEDs and other types of electric equipment in the future.

Answering the AP’s question about the completion of repair and reconstruction of automobile roads in Dushanbe, which is being carried out ahead of the forthcoming summit of heads of CIS member states and 20th anniversary of Tajikistan’s independence, Saidov said that these works will be completed by late August.
