DUSHANBE, February 7, 2012, Asia-Plus  — Buildings of the TV Channel “Safina,” Dushanbe’s central post office, Kokhi Jomi Sate Complex and the Ministry of Agriculture will be demolished as part of ambitious municipal redevelopment plan that includes the construction of modern buildings in the center of Dushanbe, an official source at the Agency for Construction and Architecture said.

According to him, a contest has been announced for construction of new buildings on their sites.  “The contest’s results will be published in mid-March,” he added.

A new building of the Service of Communications is expected to be constructed on the site of the central post office, a new building of the Ministry of Culture will be erected on the site of Kokhi Jomi, a new building of the Committee for TV and Radio-broadcasting will be constructed on the site of the “Safina” TV Channel, and a new building of the Ministry of Agriculture will be constructed on the site of the old one.
