Tajik pupils won 91 medals at the VII International School Olympiad held on April 21-25 at the Boris Eltsin Ural Federal University. A total of 96 pupils from Tajik schools took part in the Olympiad.

The Olympiad was conducted on 11 subjects, a spokesman for Tajik Education Ministry Mahmudhon Shoev told AP. In general, 43 Tajik pupils won golden medals, 18 – silver medals and 30 – bronze medals in physics, math, chemistry, biology, informatics, geography, Russian and English language contests.

The VII International Olympiad brought together pupils from Tajikistan, Kazakhstan, Belarus, Russia, Azerbaijan, Germany and Czech Republic, Tajik Education Ministry reported.

This year Tajik pupils won 13 medals at the traditional VIII Zhautyk International Olympiad on mathematics, physics and informatics which was held in Almaty, Kazakhstan. Tajik pupils won one golden medal in mathematics, four silver and eight bronze medals.

Another 12 medals were brought by young Tajiks from traditional XXIV Asian-Pacific Math Olympiad and XI Math Olympiad “Silk Way” where Muhammadfiruz Hasanov, a student of the Hoja Kamol Tajik-Turkish lyceum, won the Grand Prix and entrance grant of the Kazakh Al-Farabi National University.
