DUSHANBE, November 12, Asia-Plus  — The board (Shuro) of Tajikistan’s lower house (Majlisi Namoyandagon) of parliament has decided to table the draft law on the national budget for 2013 to the agenda of the next sitting of Majlisi Namoyandagon that will take place on November 14.

A meeting of the Shuro, presided over by the Majlisi Namoyandagon speaker Shukurjon Zuhurov, was held on November 12.

Muhammadato Sultonov, a spokesman for the Majlisi Namoyandagon, says the board considered amendments proposed to the country’s laws on holidays and state duties.

We will recall that the government considered the draft national budget for 2013 at an October 31 meeting.  The national budget for 2013 is projected to stand at 12.1 billion somoni, which is 2 billion somoni more than the country’s budget for this year.  The budget deficit is expected to amount to 210.5 million somoni.

The national budget indicators reportedly reflect the economic and social development of the country.  In 2013, social spending is expected to amount to 6.4 billion somoni.
