DUSHANBE, November 17, 2012, Asia-Plus  — Over the first ten months of this year, Tajikistan has imported 296,700 tons of oil products, which is 64,900 tons more than in the same  period last year, according to the Ministry of Energy and Industries (MoEI).

A totaled included 131,500 tons of gasoline, 99,500 tons of diesel fuel,, 41,900 tons of jet engine fuel, 5,300 tons of fuel oil, 9,100 tons of bitumen, 9.3 tons of lubricating oils, and 32 tons of kerosene. 

An official source at a MoEI says Russia, Turkmenistan and Kyrgyzstan provide the bulk of Tajikistan’s fuel imports.  Over the report period, Russian accounted for 58.8 percent (174,500 tons) of Tajikistan’s fuel imports, Turkmenistan – 18.6 percent (55,000 tons), and Kyrgyzstan – 10.8 percent (31,900 tons).

Over the same ten-month period, 11,700 tons of oil products have been delivered from Kazakhstan, 9,100 tons from Belarus, 367 tons from Azerbaijan, 76 tons from Ukraine and 7.7 tons from other countries, the source added.

Compared to October 2011 an average price of one ton of gasoline has increased by US$154.00.  Current average price for one ton of gasoline is US$1,024.       

An average price of one ton of diesel fuel has increased by US$72.00 over the report period. Current average price for one ton of diesel fuel in Tajikistan is US$1,083.       

An average price of one ton of jet engine fuel has increased by US$177.00 since October 2011 and current average price of one ton of jet engine fuel is US$1,334.
