DUSHANBE, March 17, Asia-Plus – A four-day training seminar on human rights and mechanism of protection of human rights for was opened in Dushanbe on March 16.

The seminar is being conducted under a “Journalistic Human Rights Network” project.  

According to information from the Republican Bureau for Human Rights and Observance of Legality, the project provides for holding of a series training seminars across the republic as well as creation of the “Journalistic Human Rights Network” website.  

“The seminar is conducted by trainers from the Helsinki Foundation (Warsaw) and the main objective of it is in raising a level of knowledge among the Tajik journalists of human rights, standards of freedom of speech and mechanisms of protecting human rights,” said the source, “The special stress will be laid on the necessity of correct preparation of materials on human rights subjects.”
