DUSAHNBE, May 12, Asia-Plus – Two Tajik border guards were killed on the night of May 11-12 as unknown armed people attacked a border-crossing checkpoint “Lakon” on the Tajik-Kyrgyz border in the northern district of Isfara.

According to information from the Ministry of Interior (MoI), an armed group numbering more than six people burst into the Isfara district from the Kyrgyz territory and attacked the Tajik border-crossing checkpoint “Lakon”.   As a result of skirmish, two Tajik border guards were killed and one other was injured.  The assailants took 19 sub-machine-guns and one machine-gun and made for the Kyrgyz region of Batken.  But their vehicle turned over, and they seized a car “Mercedes”, killing its driver.
