DUSHANBE, July 19, Asia-Plus — On Tuesday July 18, Emomali Rahmonov sent a telegram of condolences to his Indonesian counterpart, Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono over tsunami, which left at least 380 dead in Java.

The tsunami struck Java on Monday.  The tsunami was triggered by a 7.7 magnitude undersea earthquake that struck off the resort of Pangandaran on Monday, causing a 2-meter-high wave.

Rescue workers are searching for survivors of a tsunami that killed at least 380 people.  Nearly 230 people are missing and many thousands of others have been displaced, Indonesian officials said.  Indonesian police and troops are helping search for the missing. The death toll is expected to rise.
