DUSHANBE, February 3, Asia-Plus — President Emomali Rahmonov has issued a decree introducing a number of staff changes in the country’s judicial system.

By president’s decree of February 2 20 persons were appointed to various official positions in the judicial system.  Before signing the decree, Rahmonov held a meeting with them, according to presidential press service.     

Telling the meeting, the president noted that corruption and other negative phenomena have affected society, including judicial and other law enforcement agencies of the country.  Rahmonov outlined the fight against corruption and the protection of rights of citizens as priorities of work of judges.  He called on new judges to do their job honestly and professionally, the source said.

Rahmonov also ordered Abdujabbor Azizov, State Adviser to the Tajik President for Personnel Matters, Zarif Aliyev, State Adviser to the Tajik President for Legal Policy also President’s Representative to Parliament, Nusratullo Abdulloyev, Chairman of the Supreme Court, and Shermahmad Shoyev, Chairman of the Shuroi Adliya (Council of Judges) to take efficient measures to rightly  select personnel and draw talented women into public service and social work.
