DUSHANBE, April 25, Asia-Plus  — Municipal governments of Dushanbe and Moscow have reached an agreement on use of new technologies for providing Dushanbe residents with heat during winter months.

Shavkat Saidov, a spokesman for the capital mayor, said that the Dushanbe mayor’s office and Russia’s company Kompomash-TEK had signed an agreement on reconditioning the Dushanbe heat supply system.

Speaking to journalists in Dushanbe yesterday, the Kompomash-TEK director general Valery Moiseyev said that assistance is provided to Dushanbe by order of Moscow Mayor Yuri Luzhkov following request of Dushanbe Mayor Mahmadsaid Ubaidulloyev.

“Four new boilers working on liquid fuel, consisting of fuel oil, water and coal, will be installed at the Southwest and eastern boiler plants of Dushanbe,” said Moiseyev.  “Our company will also arrange production of this liquid fuel in Dushanbe.” Each of those four boilers, including workshop for production of the liquid fuel, will cost 100 million Russian rubles, according to him.

Barqi Tojik (Tajik electric systems) power holding will pay for installation of the boilers, the spokesman said.

The boilers are expected to be installed before the beginning of the heating season.
