KHUJAND, April 30, Asia-Plus — Farmers in the northern Sughd province have reached 96 percent of the cotton sowing target.
According to the Sughd agriculture directorate, 76,570 hectares of land have been allotted for cotton in Sughd this year. “Cotton farmers have planted cotton on 73,515 hectares, which is 96 percent of the target,” the source at the agriculture directorate said.
Besides, the Sughf province this year has planted grains on 38,703 hectares, which is 3 percent more than it was originally planned.
