KHUJAND, June 10, Asia-Plus  — The grain-harvesting campaign is progressing in the northern Sughd province.

Speaking in an interview with Asia-Plus, Farhod Soliyev, a chief agronomist with the Sughd agriculture directorate in charge of grain-growing, said that more than 70 combine harvesters currently work in the fields, harvesting cereals from 275 hectares per day.  

According to him, local farmers have produced 1,808 tons of high-quality grains so far.  Konibodom tops Sughd’s districts in grain harvesting, having produced more than 400 tons of cereals so far.  

According to the Sughd agriculture directorate, grain growers in northern Tajikistan have planted grains on the area of 40,040 hectares and they plan to yield 149,500 tons of grains this year.
