QURGHON TEPPA, June 12, Asia-Plus  — Construction of an automotive terminal started in Qurghon Teppa, the capital of Khatlon province on June 11.  

Speaking in an interview with Asia-Plus, Rajabali Davlatov, the head of the Association of Auto Cargo Carriers of Tajikistan, said that it will be the second of a series of automotive terminals in southern Tajikistan.  The first automotive terminal was constructed in Khatlon’s Qumsangir district.

According to him, the Qurghon Teppa automotive will have warehouses for keeping cargoes, car maintenance services center and hotel.  “The Qurghon Teppa automotive terminal will serve international transport companies carrying cargoes via the Tajik-Afghan bridge across the Panj River in Panji Poyon, Qumsangir district,” Davlatov said.  

He added that under the national program for development of transportation services in Tajikistan, 11 international automotive terminals are to be constructed in all regions of the country.
