DUSHANBE, June 17, Asia-Plus  — Customs officers at the Dushanbe airport have stooped an attempt by drug courier to transport heroin to Russia.  

According to press service of Tajikistan’s Customs Service, an inspection of passengers on the June 16 flight Dushanbe-Moscow found some 4 kilograms of heroin in luggage belonging the 34-year-old resident of Dushanbe, Rano Abdurahmonova. 

The heroin was found hidden in the can with halvah, the press service said.  

Ms Abdurahmonova has been detained and criminal proceedings have been instituted against her on drug-trafficking charges.
