DUSHANBE, June 25, 2008, Asia-Plus  — The fourth two-day session of the Tajik-Chinese intergovernmental commission for economic and cooperation is ending in Beijing, China today.    

According to the Tajik MFA, Tajik delegation participating at the session is led by Minister of Economic Development and Trade Ghulomjon Bobozoda.  

The commission’s session in Beijing has discussed issues related to the present state and further expansion of economic and trade cooperation between Tajikistan and China and has summed up the results of work having been carried out by the commission since its third session, which was held in Dushanbe in September 2006. 

We will recall that the third session of the commission in Dushanbe focused on energy cooperation between the two countries, including rehabilitation of the Varzob, Golovnaya and Qairoqqum hydropower plants in Tajikistan and the possibility of China’s investing in construction of small power plants in Tajikistan.
