DUSHANBE, November 13, 2008, Asia-Plus  — Outgoing Russian Ambassador to Tajikistan, Mr. Ramazan Abdulatipov, has been granted the title of Honorary Freeman of the City of Dushanbe.

Speaking in an interview with Asia-Plus, Shavkat Saidov, a spokesman for the Dushanbe mayor, said that Ambassador Abdulatipov had been granted that title for making significant contribution to expansion and strengthening of economic and trade, scientific and cultural, as well as humanitarian cooperation between the capital cities of the two countries.  

On November 12, outgoing Russian Ambassador to Tajikistan, Mr. Ramazan Abdulatipov, met Chairman of the Majlisi Milli (Tajikistan’s upper chamber of parliament) also Dushanbe Mayor Mahmadsaid Ubaidulloyev.  

During the meeting, Ubaidulloyev noted that Tajikistan attached significant importance to its relations with the Russian Federation and expressed gratitude to Ambassador Abdulatipov for his fruitful work in Tajikistan. 

Ubaidulloyev also expressed confidence Ramazan Abdulatipov as skilled diplomat and prominent Russia statesman would promote further expansion of Tajik-Russian relations in the future as well.
