DUSHANBE, January 16, 2009, Asia-Plus  — Inspections by the Agency for Land Management, Geodesy and Cartography recorded 7,760 instances of violation of the country’s land legislation last year.

The Agency head Mahmadzohir Zokirov remarked this, while reporting on the results of work carried out by the Agency in 2008 at a government session yesterday.  According to him, instances of illegal allotment of 11,644 hectares of farmland were recorded last year and appropriate applications on this subject were sent to local authorities.

The president demanded at the session that all those documents should be submitted for investigation to the Prosecutor-General’s Office.

The head of state also ordered Deputy Prime Minister Murodali Alimardon and Agriculture Minister Qosim Qosimov and the head of the Agency for Land Management, Geodesy and Cartography Mahmadzohir Zokirov to thoroughly probe into distribution and usage of agricultural lands.
