Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert said in a televised address on Saturday that Israel had unilaterally announced truce in Gaza because all the goals had been achieved and Israel had demonstrated its strength. The truce came in force at 02:00 local time on Sunday.

In the meantime, HAMAS will continue resistance until Israel doesn”t withdraw its troops from the Gaza Strip, the Al-Jazeera television channel reported on Saturday, citing the official spokesperson of the Islamic resistance movement.
