DUSHANBE, March 19, 2009, Asia-Plus  — President Emomali Rahmon has inaugurated the Republican Children’s Rehabilitation Center at the settlement of Shifo in the Vahdat district today morning.

According to presidential press service, the president will also attend a groundbreaking ceremony construction of a new railway link connecting Vahdat and Yovon that will be a section of the railway joining Dushanbe and Qurghon Teppa, the capital of the Khatlon province.

In the meantime, Sherali Rahmatulloyev, an official with the Ministry of Health (MoH), told Asia-Plus today that 3.5 million somoni were spent for construction of the children’s rehabilitation center.

2.2 million somoni of this amount were provided by a MoH.  International organization, including the World Health Organization (WHO), have also made significant contribution to the construction of the center that is provided with all necessary equipment Rahmatulloyev said.
