DUSHANBE/KHUJAND, June 29, Asia-Plus — President Emomali Rahmon returned to Dushanbe form Sughd province Saturday (June 27) evening.

On Saturday, Emomali Rahmon inaugurated presidential lyceum to accommodate 1,296 pupils in the city of Chkalovsk.  2 million somoni were allocated from the national budget for construction of the lyceum, cording to presidential press service.  Besides, 5 million somoni were allocated from the Sughd regional budget for this educational facility.

In Chkalovsk, the president also attended a ceremony of opening of a 3-storey shopping center.

After that, he attended an official opening of the limited liability company, Nikoo-Khujand.  This spinning mill was established by closed joint-stock company (CJSC), Khujand-Invest-Cotton, jointly with Iran’s Nikoo Group.  The factory that has the capacity of processing 2,500 tons of cotton fiber per day has created 167 new jobs for local residents.

On June 27, President Rahmon also attended an opening ceremony of the new central stadium in Khujand and attended celebrations to mark the 12th anniversary of a National Unity Day.

We will recall that President Emomali Rahmon was on a five-day working visit to northern Tajikistan on June 23-27.  The purpose f the visit was for him to get acquainted with socioeconomic situation in the province.
