DUSHANBE, June 30, 2009, Asia-Plus — The Communist Party (CPT) leader Shodi Shabdolov, who is deputy of the Majlisi Namoyandagon (Tajikistan’s lower chamber of parliament) is dissatisfied with the results of work of the fifth session of the Majlisi Namoyandagon.
Speaking in an interview with Asia-Plus, Mr. Shabdolov said today that the fifth session failed to promote solution of many problems that had arisen in society. “We could not promote solution of problems connected with economics, finance, labor migration and housing,” Tajik Communist leader said.
According to him, parliament has done a lot; however, nothing has been done for economic development of the country. “We failed to persuade the government to give up the monetary system in the country’s economic policy that had demonstrated its perniciousness during the financial crisis and negatively impacted the real sector of economy,” said MP, “In the meantime, such countries as Iran, China and Belarus that gave up the monetary system suffered less from the ongoing crisis.”
Shabdolov also expressed regret that he had failed to prove incorrectness of some adopted law, including the law requiring road pricing.
