DUSHANBE, July 3, 2009, Asia-Plus  — During the parliamentry summer recession, Communist deputies of the Majlisi Namoyandagon (Tajikistan’s lower chamber of parliament) will meet with voters in Gorno Badakhshan as well as Zarafshon (northern Tajikistan) and Rasht (eastern Tajikistan) valleys.

The Communist leader Shodi Shabdolov said in an interview with Asia-Plus today that people have many questions to address to MPs.  “These questions concern, first of all, social protection of the population, labor migration problems, ways to mitigate effects of the global financial and economic crisis, implementation of the adopted laws in the provinces and so on,“ Mr. Shabdolov said.

He added that he was dissatisfied with the results of work carried out by the parliament’s lower house over the past year.  “I am ready to meet with voters to discuss the socioeconomic situation that emerged in the country,” Shabdolov said.

The Communist Party (CPT) has four seats in the Majlisi Namoyandagon.
