DUSHANBE, July 14, 2009, Asia-Plus  — Over the past weekends, the exchange rate of the US dollar against the somoni has slightly increased in Dushanbe and the northern Sughd province, reaching on average 1:4.46-4.48, according to press service of the National Bank of Tajikistan (NBT).

In other regions of the country, the exchange rate of the dollar has been stable and amounted on average to 1:4.43-4.45.

Tajik central bank and commercial banks completed sale of foreign currencies Monday morning and demand for foreign currencies has decreased and the USD exchange rate Monday afternoon amounted to 1:4.44-4.46, the NBT press service said.
