No cases of A/H1N1 influenza has been reported in Turkmenistan. The Ministry of Health and Medical Industry of Turkmenistan acquired all necessary medicine and additional diagnostic equipment, and purchased the vaccine in sufficient quantities. Since there has been detected no cases of A/H1N1 influenza in the country, there is no need to conduct mass vaccination of the population, the agency said.

All services of the health system of Turkmenistan have every means to prevent infiltration of particularly dangerous infections from neighboring countries, as well as other countries. The Ashgabat International Airport and the seaport of Turkmenbashi have been fitted with thermo-scanners, and medical services have been put on alert.

Experts of the Health Information Center carry out preventive work and raise awareness of the population. Starting from the day that information about a new strain of A/H1N1influenza spread out, experts of the Health Information Center have been conducting trainings for medical staff, and information about this disease was introduced into the curriculum of students of the Turkmen State Medical Institute.
