DUSHANBE, November 18, 2009, Asia-Plus  — Two fatal traffic accidents were registered in Tajikistan on November 17, according to the Tajik traffic police directorate.

The fatal accident that tool place on the 313th kilometer of the Dushanbe-Jirgatol-Qaramyq-Saritash road left two dead and four injured.  “A minivan that was moving from Kyrgyzstan to Tajikistan’s Jirgatol district overturned.  The driver and one passenger were killed and four other passengers were injured,” the source said.

Another fatal traffic accident took place on the 157th kilometer of the highway from Dushanbe to Kulob.  Siroj Kholmurodov ran his Lexus RX-350 at the roadside pole.  As a result of the accident, the driver and one passenger were killed and two other passengers were injured.   

According to the Tajik traffic police, some 1,450 traffic accidents have been registered in the country since the beginning of this year.  412 people have been killed and 1,686 others have been injured in those accidents.
