DUSHANBE, December 25, 2009, Asia-Plus — January 6 2010 has been declared as Day of Dushanbe Residents’ Solidarity for Construction of Roghun HPP (hydroelectric power plant).
The 20th session of the Dushanbe legislature (Majlis) of the third convocation that took place on December 24 adopted a decision on this subject.
The Dushanbe legislature head also mayor of the Tajik capital, Mahmadsaid Ubaidulloyev ordered to organize festive activities on this occasion in all four districts of Dushanbe on January 6, 2010.
As it had been reported earlier, shares in Roghun are expected to be made available for trading on the country’s stock market on January 6, 2010.
Ubaidulloyev also ordered at the meeting that all necessary conditions should be created for the city residents acquiring the shares.
The Dushanbe legislature members also seconded the Majlisi Milli (Tajikistan’s upper chamber of parliament) call for buying shares in Roghun.
The legislature passed a resolution on buying Roghun shares. Under this resolution, 10 million somoni will be provided from the Dushanbe budget for 2010 for acquiring the shares due to reducing some expenditure items of the budget and selling apartments that were transferred by companies to the mayor office. Ubaidulloyev noted that the assessed value of that real estate was 2.2 million somoni.
We will recall that under the mayor’s resolution passed in 2006, companies constructing apartment in Circle 1 (the center of Dushanbe) must transfer 15 percent of the total number of apartments to the mayor’s office; companies constructing apartment buildings in Circle 2 transfer 13 percent and companies constructing apartment buildings in Circle 3 transfer 10 percent.
