DUSHANBE, February 12, 2010, Asia-Plus  — On Thursday February 11, President Emomali Rahmon extended congratulations to his Iranian counterpart, President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, on the 31st anniversary of the Islamic Revolution of Iran, according to presidential press service.

In his telegram of congratulations, President Rahmon, in particular, noted that firm historical and cultural ties between the Tajik and Iranian peoples have become foundation for development of bilateral relations between the two friendly nations.

“It gives me pleasure to state that development of these relations in all directions is our common goal,” the message said.

In his telegram of congratulations, President Rahmon also wished peace, accord and wellbeing to the Iranian people
