KULOB, October 2, 2010, Asia-Plus — The Islamic Revival Party (IRP) has set up its primary organization in Baljuvon district, where the party does not yet have the district organization, Mahmadsharif Nabiyev, the head of IRP’s regional organization for the Kulob zone of Khatlon, said in an interview with Asia-Plus.
“The party is not yet active in this remote district, while in other districts of the Kulob zone IRP’s numbers are growing,” said Nabiyev. “Over the first nine months of this year alone, some 1,000 people have joined the IRP regional organization in Kulob.”
According to him, the IRP regional organization for the Kulob region now has some 13,000 members.
