DUSHANBE, November 17, 2010, Asia-Plus  — In January-October 2010, Tajikistan has produced a total of 6.2355 billion somoni (equivalent to more than 1.4 billion U.S. dollars) worth of industrial goods, according to the Agency for Statistics under the President of Tajikistan.

Compared to January-October 2009 the index of the volume of production of industrial goods amounted to 110.9 percent.

Industrial products worth 4.2571 billion somoni were delivered over the report period, or 95.7 percent of the volume of products produced. 

Over the first ten months of this year, 468 enterprises (55 percent) exceeded the January-October 2009 production level.  In the meantime, 124 enterprises, or 14.6 percent of the overall number (851), were not in operation.

Of the 78 basic types of industrial products the output of 40 items (51.3 percent) increased, and the output of 28 (35.9 percent) decreased.  10 basic types of industrial products (12.8 percent) were not manufactured.

Enterprises subject to the Ministry of Energy and Industries (MoEI) have produced 1.7382 billion worth of goods over the same ten-month period, which is 21.6 percent more than in the same period last year.

Cotton-processing enterprises have produced 486.9 million somoni worth of output in January-October 2010, which is 15.2 percent more than in the same period last.

Enterprises that are not subject to a MoEI have produced 2.4709 billion somoni worth of goods over the report period, which is 3.1 percent fewer than in January-September 2009.
