DUSHANBE, July 5, 2011, Asia-Plus  — Tojik Sodirot Bonk (TSB), which is the third-largest bank in terms of total assets in Tajikistan, has introduced a new money transfer system – Coinstar.

This money transfer system is now available in each of TSB’s branches or money transfer outlets.

Coinstar Money Transfer reportedly provides an easy to use, reliable and cost effective way to end money around the world.  Its services are specially suited for individuals away from home who need to send money to their family and friends or to manage their personal finances.

In June 2006 Coinstar Inc. successfully acquired Travelex Money Transfer (TMT), previously owned by Travelex PLC.  Coinstar Money Transfer (CMT) has become one of the leading money transfer providers, with over 56000 locations and operates in 138 countries worldwide.

Coinstar Inc. is a NASDAQ listed company based in Seattle, Washington, USA.  The company was founded in 1991 and pioneered self-service coin counting machines to provide consumers with convenient and innovative means to convert loose coins into cash.  Today Coinstar is a multi-national company offering a range of solutions for retailers including self-service coin counting, electronic payment solutions and entertainment services and through its most recent acquisition, Money Transfer.  The company”s products can be found in more than 65,000 retail locations, including supermarkets, drug stores, general retailers and convenience stores.

TSB was established in December 1990 as the Tajik branch of the Vnesh Econom Bank of the former Soviet Union, and it initially specialized in trade and import-export banking.  Later this branch was reorganized into a Joint-Stock Commercial Bank “Tajikvnesheconombank”. In June 1999 the bank was renamed and registered as Tojik Sodirot Bonk or TSB.

Headquartered in Dushanbe, TSB has 11 branches in the main cities of Tajikistan and covering all regions of the country.  Its clients include the biggest Tajik trading companies, other enterprises, entrepreneurs, and some of the embassies and diplomatic organizations based in Dushanbe.
