KHUJAND, July 13, 2011, Asia-Plus  — The monument to Ismoili Somoni that will replace the monument to the Bolshevik revolutionary leader Vladimir Lenin in the northern city of Khujand will be cast in bronze and its crown and scepter will be covered with gold leaves, Mansour Hojiboyev, the author of the project also foundry work manager, told Asia-Plus today.

According to him, the height of the monument will be 13 meters and the height of the pedestal will 14 meters.

“The monument will be cast in bronze at the Vostokredmet enterprise,” Hojiboyev said, noting that a total cost of the project is 2.5 million somoni.  The monument must be erected before the end of this month.
